Programming and comfort foods.
« on: December 01, 2007 »

I wish to discuss what foods we eat and what drinks we well...drink while programming. Personally I like to sit down with a can of Diet Coke and eat blackberry cobbler. I think some random person here did a tutorial on drinking cola. I'd probably be doing more coffee too but I tend to overdo the coffee. :xmas: I like to have some sort of caffeine drip and starch food while I program.

What do you eat and drink for those long 4-5 our coding secessions?

I drink coffee for the most part but a couple of beers go down well too. If I want a snack its a random snatch and grab from the presses or fridge you know whatever food is there thats easy to prepare

At work, water mostly.  And I don't eat much there when I'm concentrating.  At home, wine, beer, scotch, sake, and cheese toasties or PB and vegemite.  I try to avoid junk foods and fizzy pop.

At work i'm quite boring, One coffee on the train then water all day, maybe a coke with lunch.

I don't really eat while I'm on a computer but once again at work if I need to snack it's boring fruit.

This is all of course excepting fridays where we all get pizza, coke and garlic bread for lunch and then at 5pm it's beer oclock!

I like fridays :D

Slightly off topic, when I have big gamming sessions with mates we usually have a few bottles of pepsi and either redrock or kettle chips.

Either:

Chocolate milkshake and chocolate chip cookies

or

Dry cider and a medium-spicy curry, like my nana makes :)

Many of my friends outside of the internet swear by a nice club sandwich.

I could never eat a club sandwich while programming - a chocolate biscuit bar between two slices of bread? It doesn't sound right.

I would have never gathered that from the 7 exclamation points. ;D

I would be drinking Full Throttle but the stuff is so damn expensive. I settle for the refined tartness of a Diet Coke. I have about 5 per day.
