Hello again,
Just to let you know, a good friend of ours . . . Shockwave (Nick) has started work on my new website . . . and its looking bloody fantastic!
If any of the members here would like to become a member of my new site that would be fantastic - In fact I would be honoured! The main website is still being coded at the moment but . . . the forums are up and running and ready to be used! Please feel free to drop in.

Hmm, well actually the code is a little bit further on from what Drewpee says here..

The portal is nearly completely coded now, I have written it entirely in php, css and mysql.

The whole thing is database driven and integrates fully with the forum.

The "LIVE" version is running on my home computer, the forum was activated to allow people to register and actually it would help me to get some test data if people who are interested in this site do register.

This site is the main reason I havent been here much lately.

Code will be finished for RCM before the end of next week, in the mean time please do feel free to help Drewpee out and register over there, here are a few screens of the portal that is nearly finished for the site..

Great work Shocky that must have taken a fair bit of work it is really in the spirit of the scene to help someone else out like that and worth a double karma (i ll karma up again in a while) So far as I could tell all the buttons I would use work exactly as expected except that the shadow text does not seem to work

is this text in Shadow format? If not then it dont work here either

Really looking forward to seeing the site finished and I am happy to be able to jump in at the start

PHP, SQL, CSS ? Cool to hear that you are diving deeper
and deeper into webdevelopment. I remember that you
thought about working in it as a profession ? Is this still
your aim ?!

Yes, the site is written with php , mysql and css. I've got quite a lot of experience already with database driven websites, actually I've focussed almost totally on it lately. I'm pleased to apply this to Drewpee's site.

There are still a few little things to sort out but it's just a matter of time now, it should be working 100% in the next few days.

Rain, the problem is browser related, and because of SMF, not my code

I didnt code the forum, I altered some of the scripts, my code is the front-end of the site, although I have coded it so that it integrates with SMF, I can even use the SMF functions in my own scripts

Well, www.retrocomputermuseum.co.uk is now finished!

The code is anyway, it's up to Drew to make a success of the site now

I will be back around here more now that this site is coded, my apologies for not being here too much these last couple of weeks.

Actually finishing this one feels a little bit more wierd than usual.
Normally when I finish a project it is a matter of sitting back and seeing how it does at intro inferno and pouet, but this time it is not up to me to add the content..

The site has a fairly empty database, it's not up to me to collate the information and put it into the site so it's a good emotion, but strange.

I can completely reccomend php coding to anyone, it's damned addictive... I am already looking for my next project

It certainly is a niche market, but a big niche. There are many who used those early (and not so early) machines who would love to see them in action again.

If I were an investor, or at least, if I had a lot of money, I'd fund this.

Hello again,
Just thought I would update you all again.
We are thinking of holding an open day - to see if there is as much interest as I hope there is??

The date in question looks like it is going to be Sunday, November 16th. There will be a small entrance fee to pay for the hire of the hall. The venue will be a local Hall (well local to me) in Swannington which is right next to Coaville, Leicestershire, UK.

There will be old systems to play on, such as Sinclair Spectrums, Commodore 64s, Amstrad CPC464, Sega Dreamcast, Sony PS One, Sega Megadrive, Nintendo NES, Nintendo N64 etc etc. hopefully something for everyone as there will be around 20 or so (space and tv availability permitting). There will also be available some of Linda's (my wife's) famous Wheat Free Cakes and some refreshments (tea, coffee etc). If anybody might/will be interested can they either post on here, post on our website (www.retrocomputermuseum.co.uk) or send me an email to:-

Found a mistake....

Commodore Amiga 2000 Technical Specifications.

CPU: Motorola 68EC020 @ 7.09Mhz

Thats wrong, the standard A2000 is equipped with Cpu: 68000 @ 7,09Mhz, no 020 in there, but i guess it´s an Copy and Paste Error.
