Voice On A Loop
« on: October 16, 2008 »
Hi everybody i'm looking for a program where i can record my voice onto my computer
then put it in a continuos loop and play it back through my computers speakers.
So any ideas on microphones and programs would be greatly received.
Cheers Gooner

Probably the simplest way to do this would be to buy a microphone, you could record a .wav file with windows, maybe of you reading a chapter out of a book or something and then just play it with windows media player, it would loop over and over.

I think I know why you need this, good luck.

I would think you can get a usb microphone pretty cheaply :)

It might even plug into the mic port of your pc. I dunno I dont have a mic.

Some webcams have built in Microphones.

You could look around with google for instance, and try and find a free sampler. With that you'd mostly probably be able to make the sample ( your voice ) loop, plus add some other sound effects to it. Perhaps some of the musical minded people here, can point you in the right direction with this.

Clyde, all he'll need to do is plug his microphone in, once windows has detected it he can right click on the desktop and record just as easily as creating a new text doccument.

I only know because I recorded my voice for the S!P podcast once (it wasn't used thankfully).

Thanks for the advice Shockie and Clyde i think the microphone is going to be the simplest answer for what i want it for and by playing it through windows media player and sticking it on repeat will do just the job.All i now need is a decent book that brings out my dulcet tones. Thanks for your quick responce guys it is very much appreciated.K+ to both of you.

Ah ok - simplisity is often the best

I sense your creating an Audio Book for you or your kids to go to sleep with. Or perhaps a hypnotizing cd.

As it goes, I am actually reading that very book atm. Favourite bit so far is Monty being really chuffed that Andrew Flintoff called him "mate".  ;)

Brilliant stuff this has given me the the reason to start reading this book as i never found time to read it before even though i was given it last Christmas.Hopefully it will leave Brady stumped as the dummy runs so far have been positive.
Thanks guys
