RIP Stan Winston
« on: June 04, 2009 »
Hi film fans,

I saw Terminator Salvation last night, and had no idea until the end of the film that Stan Winston is no longer with us. He's the dude behind the special make up effects in so many films, including all of the Planet Of The Apes films including Tim Burtons remake, Terminator 1-3, and also starred as one of the pilots in Peter Jacksons Kong. Plus so many others.

RIP Stan Winston, and thanks for making such cool and very convincing make ups.

I never heard of the guy personally, but I loved all the Terminator films.

Was the new one as good as all the hype says?

He's certainly a busy man.

If the film is as good as the trailers, it will be as better than T3 as T2 was better than T1. If that makes any sense.

Flashbacks / flashforwards aside, in the previous films there were never more than 2 humanoid terminators on screen at any time.

What more could you ask for? (BTW, I've not seen it yet, so I might understand what you're saying when I've seen it).

you'll see what im getting at when you see it, as this film is not meant to be just about the humans. Im not going to give anything away to those who've not watched it yet.

I will say though that the James Cameron Terminator 2 is the best of the bunch, in my humble opinion.

Back to topic, RIP Mr Stan Winston.
