First tinker in ages
« on: November 20, 2010 »
Yep, been doing other stuff, as ya do, picked up YABASIC today for a change.  Fixed the butterfly football demo at last, yep two typos.

Nothing beats the satisfaction of making code work.

Great having the laptop, I can have it sitting on my knees while I compare files.

Been digitising a heap of old cassettes, few probs with them too.  Got a cool suite of software to make the job go great with.

Audiograbber to capture, Audacity to edit/filter etc, and BonkEnc to transcode to MP3.  Started on the Windows 98 box, then found the mic socket on the laptop can be used as line in.  Cool.

I've got the pool code and the GP code.  Might have a go at them sometime.  Also got Windiff, so comparing files is on the laptop now, not linux.

Hey Wenlock!
I have to say it's amazing that people still program in yabasic, but it's also cool that folks enjoy it too.
Cheers!

I like yabasic. Such good memories coding.
He tilts, and his eyes are focused on the ground far below.. Wind? Angels? Men..

Back to it again today, and Merry Christmas all.

Did a bit more on Paccy.  Now got the game screen coming up, got the menus working, the instructions work.  No gameplay yet, still missing a few subs.

YABASIC recaptures the days of typing listings from magazines each month.

And finally, Happy New Year if I don't post again before then.

If you get it working you won't be disappointed, Xalthorn made a great game there.

Paccy running
Well, pretty good effort there, got Paccy running tonight.

Only thing is I only have the first level map in, have to do the others.

That aside I did end up using windiff and found a few typos that way.
