That is what i told all the time and that is the reason i really dislike today companies called AMIGA and COMMODORE!
Both are just only trying to get the last money of old amiga fan users.

While I do sometimes enjoy going into my loft, getting my C64 down, dusting it off, coding some classic BASIC and loading some very slow tapes, (purely for nostalgic purposes) I cannot see myself buying this.

As has been mentioned - it's just a PC in a C64 style case running some sort of emulator.

I'd prefer to go with a PC in a PC style case running a C64 emulator - not that I'd want to use it to run illegally downloaded C64 software, but I'd be able to code on it.

im with ck on this one,

i love once in a while to get my old specci and c64 out and do abit of basic/asm but only because they are the original hardware. as such they are a reall challenge to get anything done and it brings back good memores, i for one think that old magic would get lost and somehow the originals might be devauled slightly with half baked goes at revival. better just to leave them as vintage classics me thinks.

I concur with the genral consenus here too. I personally believe the idea to shove a PC inside a facsimile of the C64 case is pretty pointless. I for one won't be buying one. I'll be sticking with the real thing thanks!

Note: Commodore OS 1.0, along with emulation functionality and classic game package, will be mailed to purchasers when available. In the meantime, units come with the Ubuntu 10.04 LTS operating system on CD ready to install.

A crap PC w/o monitor running Ubuntu, which you gotta install yourself, for only $595 - $895. And you get the more or less interesting part 'when available' (probably never). Sounds like a great deal. I wonder what they have been smoking...

Sadly they didnt created a real 100% C64 portable clone, like this really amazing selfmade C= by a user!

I saw this a couple of days ago. According to the news report they sold out in 24 hrs. Seems silly to wrap a PC in a look-a-like Commodore shell. I don't get people sometimes.
