Revival By TTD
« on: April 26, 2011 »
Well it's been along time since we released anything and while I got side tracked from my game project I decided to turn one of the tests of the gl framework for bmax into a little retro cracktro inspired effort. I hope you like it and I also hope that it runs ok :)

Great that you are back to coding again. And congrats on getting your first release completed. Really good work with getting the file size down so low. As far as the font choice goes, I guess people could be right in that it is not the most interesting one. But I do not know if you are including a font in the exe or you are picking from already installed fonts. If it is from already installed fronts I would think that the selection to choose from would be quite limited since you will have to depend on what ever the various windows versions comes with, so you probably did not have much to choose from there, certainly not any fancy looking ones.

It is really great to see new releases coming out of Cornwall again. I hope that I one day can join you in making some new releases. I just need to get my current game project done, then I will be able to devote some time to take another swing at something demo related.

Looking forward to seeing what is next from you. :)

Thanks for the feedback guys, good to know the framework is stable across platforms. It could probably be smaller but I went for compatibility as I hate it when things crash, hang or misbehave with windows and cause me issues so its built to play nicely with the OS.

On the font front, it is using a font from the windows install, my system has alot on but my xp machine being a fairly vanilla install has less and it was one that seemed to be on both and made a better looking mesh. I would have gone with a 3d model for the logo but havent got one yet, maybe for next release. I am guessing alot of peeps used the font i used  :D

It feels great to have gotten a project to a "finished" state again, actually cant wait to try out more interesting ideas :)

@shockwave, yeah I am pretty pleased with that from a bmax standpoint, I think using the supplied modules for window creation, opengl etc. the smallest the exe came out was about 440kb and thats without the module player and song included  :o
