Tea for two (and two for tea)
« on: June 09, 2011 »
I've started trying different coding drinks and currently I have a tea thing going.
I'm addicted to Earl Grey and this Vanilla Chai tea.

What do other people drink? Any advice?

I love ginger and lemon tea. Sometimes I buy herbal ginger and lemon teabags, sometimes I will make a pot of regular tea and slice some fresh ginger into it. I tried the latter in Indonesia many years ago and I really think it works well.

Not sure if you get Twinings tea in the USA, but they do a lovely spiced Indian chai which has cinnamon (and I think cloves) in it. That's really nice too.  Can't go wrong with Earl Grey. Lady Grey is nice if you can find it. It's like Earl Grey with a slight citrus flavour.

I sometimes drink tea, though I have no preference as to which variety. I steer clear of that "fruit" tea, which smells like fruit, but tastes like hot water.

More often, I just drink tap water, but if I'm partying, I'll switch to shandy, lager, or hard cider.

I've never tried coffee - the smell puts me off.

Hmm most people like the smell. If you don't like the smell then there is little left to like in my opinion.
Coffee is a bitter aromatic drink. The smell being breathed out of your nose while tasting is half the pleasure.

That said, how can a programmer not like coffee? The caffeine I.V. drip is a staple in most IT jobs isn't it?

I'm a big fan of water, the most underrated drink in history! I fill up bottles with water and put them in the minibar in our living room, where I work most of the time. Friends I live with have now developed the same habit. We now got the luminous idea of scoring one of them water coolers! :)

I also blend a lot of smoothies, banana's or frozen strawberries with milk, definitely my recommendation!

As for soda pop, we're big fans of fernandes, pink mostly.

Im a true Tea Addict! I probably drink too much of the stuff for my own good. And in my opinion there's nothing quiet like PG, it's the taste! I once auditioned for a role as one of the chimps. Not true, I couldn't resist it! And I do think Chimps Rock!

The other three members of my team drink coffee all day long, but I've never been into caffeine. I don't like the smell of Red Bull either. I'm not sure if it's the caffeine I can smell, or if it's just those drinks.

I used to like cola as a child, but I'm more of a lemonade drinker these days.

Maybe this is why I'm not doing so well in the competitions ;)

Pixel Outlaw, don't come to Britian they don't sell the Vanilla Variety. :(
The closest I suppose is Dr. Pepper.

It might not be proper coke, but I've seen "Diet Coke with Citrus" (lemon & lime) for sale near me.
