well, you could try:
EJay at http://www.ejay.com/splash/default.htm
or: Fruity Loops (FL Studio) at http://fruityloops.com/
or: Sony Acid at http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/products/acidfamily.asp
or: Sony Sound Forge http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/products/soundforgefamily.asp
Normally, there are sites which offer free loops for you music file - but Sony and FL Studio have loops which you can buy... you can still use ordinary loops though!
There are magazines at newsagencies which are about Music Production - head on down and pick up a copy, they advertise great software!
oh yea... some of the Sony products are 'really' expensive - the top (Acid Pro 6) is around US $400

Do you want to make music by arranging pre-made samples next to each other or do you plan to make your own samples?

If you plan on spending some money check out Ableton Live!  It's a great program, I love it.

If you are after something powerfull and free then grab a copy of Computer Music from the newsagent and use their Computer Muzy's program.  I use that myself.

It can be used as a basic sequencer but it also supports vst instruments, wav editing, has a midi editor and has quite a few cool effects built in.

If you are after pre-made loops I would once again check out Computer Music.  They always give away tonnes of really cool royalty free samples.

Clanky:  Do you use any of the programs you listed?  I haven't used  them, except for the express version of Acid for a few minutes. I'm always keen to try some new music apps :)

I am new and I mean VERY new to music. I would prefer to make my own samples, but I have no way to do that.

I have FL and Skale. Now I just need to get skale to work. I am not asure what my problem is. I have not had time to work on it really. I know I can figure it out. I just need to get to the forum when I have some time.

I am excited about music as I love it and always have. I wanted to play the drums when I was in greade school, but the band teacher told me I cound't because I was a girl. He said I should play something like the flute. I said no thanks. My brother and some friends play the guitar, but that too was a loss cause because I have samll hands and they don't fit around the guitar correctly. MY brother can hear a song from Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Nickleback, andyone really and play it right away. He is very talented.

So anyway (off topic), Thanks for your suggestions and feedback.

Do you plan on learning some kind of instrument?

Piano  could be very usefull if you plan to make your own samples.  I did a few years of piano at school and now i use that to make music on my pc with a pretty bad hardware synth and some soft synths.  The piano lessons came in handy.

I also play around with turntables which would be fine for your little hands :) Turntables are great fun, expensive hobby though.

well, i got EJay Dance 4 last friday - before my footy match, and then went to a party, then got home and  had a well deserved relax and sleep....
hmm... oh yea... i installed EJay Dance 4, and hey presto, 6 songs by today, and i reckon they are alright for first attempts!!!
i really dont suggest someone should buy this program, isnt what i thought it would be... but, for AUS$10.00 it is real good value!
just need to save my pennies to get a PS3 and SONY Acid Pro. 4!! wouldn't that be real nice?

See  lilw4t3rdr0p's post of FL Studio . . . I mentioned in there that Skaletracker is easily the best for demo making tunes . . . just my opinion i guess though!

It should be pretty easy.. You already have the Myspace thing down. You just need to put them to a code. I have a few sites that might help.. can't promise.. but might!
