Then again nothing would prove your 1337 coding skillz better then being in 1st, 2nd and 3rd all at once.  ;D

:goodpost:

Is there a limit to the number of entries in this competition? I've read through the rules twice, but I may have missed it.

There's no limit to the amount of entries, but it would probably be a better ploy to combine both your ideas into one if they go together, otherwise you will disadvantage yourself as Raizor said.. Unless you don't mind that and you're just having a blast making them.

That's a really cool video Benny, I would love to see something like that. No-one codes a particle engine like Mother Nature :)

Yeah, starlings are awesome :)

Maybe I should have chosen them.. I'm battling with the Northern Lights at the moment and losing :)

trve!!!

@Shocky:
Damn, aurora .. that would be indeed a great FX. One of my favourite natural phenomena. More inspiration. To be honest, I do not know a single demo which shows an aurora effect. So this might be a very interesting challenge to take. I wish you luck, mate!

I did consider attempting the Northern Lights, but decided it would be far too difficult :P Hehehe

I wish you the best of luck, I'm sure you'll pull something out of the bag, which I'm very much looking forward to seeing.

I can assure you that I'm tackling it in a very unscientific way!

It will suck :)

Whatever it is, there's likely to be 4 or 5 phenomena which do something similar  ;)

Hey Optimus, that's a hard decision ... would be cool to see a new production from you - but having some fun on a LAN-party is also a good alternative ;-)
Anyway, cool to see you back online.
Best,
benny!

Hoy, I am almost having something even if it sucks. If the guest are more late or in between the lan gamings, maybe I'll push it, maybe not.

I wanted to try and get something done for this challenge, but unfortunately I just haven't been able to find the time and energy for it. Perhaps next time. Great to see that a good bunch of entries made it after all.

Just saw this video on Vimeo (was added yesterday). Think it somehow fits to the term Phenomena:
