I have a conveyor belt of punishments all queued up for our unwanted guest. Please tell me it's Puki. I'd be surprised if it was him though, he didn't seem to be that much of a competent programmer.

Sadly I don't think it was Puki, I don't know what all the factors were either..
Xilo have replaced some hardware and discovered another user on our server was taking the database down, while they were investigating I've been testing and patching the forum to make sure it is as secure as possible.

Hopefully it's all fixed now

We shall see!!

One of the drawbacks of shared hosting, I guess. Still, as long as Xilo can patch the issue at the server end, everything should run smoothly.

Yo shock! Nice the site is back.  But if ever it goes down again after I visited, my connection is probably the one being compromised.

I'm using Psiphon 3 for SSH and VPN connections.

Now my site's down! Looks like a total server or DNS failure rather than a database error.

(edit) Yep, I can't even log onto CPanel or access my secondary domain, so the server appears to be down.
That said, I can't access my.xilo.net to check the status of my hosting services, so that begs the question - is somebody attacking Xilo?

(edit2) Just found a list of servers which are undergoing maintenance and mine's one of them. Sorry to have caused a panic, nobody's attacking Xilo.

Yeah they have been upgrading some things.  As far as hosting companies go, xilo is about the best for the money so I wouldn't be concerned about your website

The downtime to uptime ratio is the best I've seen, though they have sent me advance warning in the past. Still, two hours out of a year is better than reasonable.
