For those who still own an amiga, specifically an A1200 or A600, and have some knowledge with electronics, take a look at those smd capacitors on your board, they might be leaking and they sure can destroy it.
I've followed
this tutorial and I have successfully changed all smd capacitors (two were already leaking). This tutorial was made in portuguese language, translation is not good but for those who are familiar with electronics it will be easy just following picture sequence, which are in high quality.
In the mean time I just remove my old 80Mb HD(!) and installed a 4GB CF card using a
CF IDE adapter, this is great because I can easily use winuae to transfer files to the amiga, I'm now using
classic amiga workbench which works pretty nice.
