It's Sunday and I have been sat at my computer all day and got knowere, Give-up is the hardest thing to do at the
moment I want to use Bass.dll in BlitzMax I imagined it would be strait forward but no

I have search every where
for a ray of light source code or something to help me on my way, I have the wrapper and dll but just can't get anything
out of it at all, I have used it before years ago in Visual Basic 6 worked a treat then, Now I know this is an old question
but does anyone out there know how to kick start this thing?

I will send ya files with Mod Music that work for Blitzmax tomorrow as I cant do it today because I am my friends house

Hi Hotshot I have used that one Alan Module but it is not a complete wrapper you only get to play music and a few other things I am looking to reproduce a VU-Meter display so I need the full bass, If not then a pint or two of Bass!

P/s when will your site be up running?

Looking though Alan's wrapper it has the Getchannelvolume method?

GetChannelVolume Method, I didn't see it in the version I have, Also there should be GetVarShort GetVarLong which is used to convert the output but there not there ether do you still have a copy? with the dll for ver reasons.

Thanks for that, I may be wrong here but from my readings there are different wrappers for different versions of bass.dll
the one above is simply for playing mod's like the old Pro-Trackers did.
I am looking for a Wrapper that contains this:

DWORD level,left,right;
level=BASS_ChannelGetLevel(channel); <--- This is the function used.
left=LOWORD(level) <--- Also these functions to convert the retuning level.
right=HIWORD(level)

If I find a wrapper with these functions in I will need the right version dll to go with it, & just to make it even more impossible it has to be compatible with BlitzMax

I havent used bass.dll with bmax but since all the bmax code generally does is access the functions of the dll I would think it possible to just add the calls to the required function in, after all they must be doing some sort of loadlibrary(bass.dll) type call then using something like getprocaddress to get the access to the functions. Will have a look at one of them if I get time, but currently looking after father as hes just come home from hospital.

I have attached another implemtation of the BASS dll, made by some guy from Germany. It looks like it is used as an include instead of a module. From what I can see it has all the functions you would need already written into it. You can download the latest bass dll from this site: http://www.un4seen.com/

Include is used when you have code in seperate files and you want to join them together as one program. Just write "include "filename.bmx" in the top of your code and it will compile the bmax code from that file as if the code was written within the file you are working on.

Thanks Zawran, I got it sorted after playing with different versions of Bass.dll and changing parts of the Bass.bmx
I have it working, I need to find a way to convert an Integer to byte ptr but all good.
