Pompey Pirates 53 remake
« on: March 22, 2012 »
Another nice colourful one from The Pompey Pirates.  Menu 53 includes a nice tracker mod on the pre-menu intro and 10 tunes from Seven Gates of Jambala (press M to cycle).  Tested and working fine on WinXp, Win7 x86 & x64, with Nvidia and Intel gfx cards and no errors so far......but it hasn't been tested on here yet.  ;)

I never owned an ST, but had a few friends who did. These feel very authentic from memory, especially the decrunch stuff :)

Another enjoyable production, thanks for sharing KrazyK(++)

The scroller below the friendly beelzebub bloke ran way too fast for me to read. I discovered space by randomely banging fists on my keyboard.

Everything else looked really good, nice work!

Nice one... the initial scroller was also too fast for me to read, other than that its a nice clean remake. :)

zip updated in original post now.  Should solve the 'too fast scroller' (hopefully)  ;)

Still too fast for me, sorry dude. :(

Meaby you can solve it by using the elapsed time to offset the scroll?

Crap.  I thought it was that I had mistakingly set the framerate to the users framerate instead of 60fps.  Obviously not.  Plan C . . .

If you got some sync problems, use this:

Code: [Select]

Define.q Frequency, Before, After
Define.d Delta

QueryPerformanceFrequency_(@Frequency)
QueryPerformanceCounter_(@Before) ; Get time before loop for 1rst time

Repeat

  ;your code here

QueryPerformanceCounter_(@After)            ; get time after the code
Delta = 1000.0 * (After - Before) / Frequency       ; get the duration of the whole code in loop

  If Delta<16.667
Delay(16.667-Delta)   ; only the integer value will be used
  EndIf

  FlipBuffers()

QueryPerformanceCounter_(@Before)           ; get time at begin of loop

; windows and event code here

Until Done=#False

Long time since I sat down at my pc and coded anything since my shoulder injury and just realised that I was going to update this project.
Before adding your code Jace I tested the speed on my dual (identical) monitor setup and forcing it onto the second monitor.  It was as Kiri stated way too fast, but on my primary monitor it was normal speed.
I then forced the refresh rate to 59fps and it worked perfectly on both!
Bizarre indeed.  So please give it another test (zip attached along with a fixed Medway70) and let me know if it is still too fast.
Cheers  ;)

Nice one Krazy K, great intro's. Scroller speed on that devil part is still way too fast for me to read, other than that it's all good.

Injuries suck (I know all about it), rest up, get well, will be nice to see some new intro's from you soon I hope.
