Hi Crackerboy, welcome to DBF :)

If you want to use something portable between Linux and Windows then OpenGL is a good API teamed with the language of your choice.

Hi Crackerboy. I'd recommend OpenGL too, especially for Linux. Are you familiar with any programming languages at the moment?

15 Years old, the perfect age to learn programming, i am saying this because i only started it last year, now i am 16. /enoughsexualreferences

Just kidding, good luck with your projects! And yes, OpenGL may be hard in the beginning, but with time you will understand the mysterious way it works! If you want any tip or tutorial, we are here to help you ;D

Also, i would like to know more about your style, what do you prefer: Softsynths or the classic 8bit sound? Size limited demos (4k, 64k, 128k...) or wild ones? (no size limitation), the faster you know what you want to do the better you will do it.

By the way, you will need to know a lot about math, A FUCKING LOT, so get your ass out off your chair, get some geometry books and start studying, make us proud :D

Do you have a modern Linux desktop PC or are you looking to code for something like a Raspberry Pi?
Welcome to the forum!

I'm getting started with OpenGL too - hopefully we'll find eachothers' questions useful.

FreeBASIC is very good to help get you started with Coding and having a look at the examples / tutorials.
It doesn't cost anything, and is well supported.
