A 1k
« on: August 29, 2006 »
Hi all,

here is a 1k.

Whats interesting is it is written in C! and does not use ordinal import. Meaning, any idiot can do it. Its a variation which wont be released of the matrix trilogy from sek ...yeah ok, I'm, sek. Magic wand, transformation, all that.

Requires: opengl 2.0, shader model 2.0.

Enjoy!

Well you can see a picture here from the one that needs import by ordinal.

I dont have a picture from the version above but its very similar without the texture.

Mm. Won't run here for some reason. The other one did though. That's odd.

That look cool, nice and globule like.

Ever thought of converting it into an animated magic eye? its just right for that :)

I dont know the exacts, but a magic eye is just a picture or random pixels that have a 3d image hidden inside it, when you look through the picture, i.e, focus your vision into the picture, as you would a mirror, you see a picture in 3d more or less. The 3d picture is made from a picture that looks like a grayscale heightmap, which in a sense it is, the color determines how far into the picture it appears when you see it in 3d, so black is in the distance, and white is close to the screen. It would be possible to generate this as an animation.

Its something I always wanted to attemp my self, I mite give it a go, I will see what I can find, its fairly strait forward to generate and if I remember correctly the method and examples of are fairly available onlnie.

ah those things..those damn stereograms. I have never in my life been able to see one of those so coding one would be hard to debug :-).

Are you colour blind Sek? colour blind people can't see those patterns.. They use that test for some jobs. I had to take a test like that for something I don't quite remember, I think it was factory work one summer while I was in college.
I didn't get the job.

Do you have shader model 2.0 support on your gfx card? Then just go here and see some examples based on the code:

http://www.intro-inferno.com/production.php?id=1325 (trinity)
http://www.intro-inferno.com/production.php?id=1321 (MrAnderson)
http://www.intro-inferno.com/production.php?id=1340 (Morpheus)

The safe versions in the archive are the big ones.
If you cant run these then likely as not your gfx card just doesnt support shader model 2.0.
