2nd Intro
« on: July 02, 2013 »
Hi!

After I got a little more free time, I coded my 2nd Intro and I need feedback what you like and what you don't like :).

I hope it works on non-Nvidia Cards because I had no test-person to test it out on non-nv cards.
I call it "Shining" - I hope Kubrick Fans will recognize the carpet pattern ;).
It's not very long, just some functions I glued together.

Its packed with Bero's Exe Packer - maybe your virus scanner will give you alarm (mine did..).

Source included in seperate zip.

Bye and have a nice day.

Edit: To be 100% fair, not 100% of the GLSL Code is from me.. I combined several GLSL stuff I found on the net.

Hi Knurz, that's some nice stuff!
I think the rusty chains would look nicer with a bit of shading.
How about delaying each segment's rotation by a little bit to make the chain twisting?
Half of the upper chain is hidden under the title-bar in window mode btw.
The rainbow stripes look a bit jagged with the tube distortion and would benefit from anti-aliasing.
The vector pattern in the background could use some motion, probably just a slow rotozoom kinda thing.
I somehow find it a bit irritating that the most transparent star is in the foreground.
In the second part the shaded rasters have a good feel of depth which is missing on the boing-ball. Maybe a perspective wireframe- or checkerboard-floor would work well here.

Hi Hellfire!

Thanks for taking the time to write a feedback, I'm still learning the do's and dont's (and the math behind the effects :) ).
Also thanks for your suggestions, I'll add some stuff to it (the checkerboard floor is a great idea, the star-order seems to be a little bug).

Again, thanks alot for your feedback...

Brgds and have a nice day!

Hi Knurz, nice intro.

I think there is a problem with tv filter, it works on nvidia 8800 but it slowdown sometimes.
On intel 3000 i got some shader errors, tv filter and raster bars doesn't work.

Looks really nice and polished. I like the design scheme, which is something I need to work more on in my own prods.

I echo hellfire's sentiments about a *very* slow rotozoom on the carpet in the background in the first section. Motion blur on the bouncy ball would be nice to see, as well as some blur on those rasterbars.

Thanks... I've done some learning with Ogre3D and - to be honest - forgot to update the intro..

I'll fix it soon ( really! ;) ).

Bye
