Hi guys.
« on: February 05, 2008 »
A while back, some buds and I started working on this library called the FreeBASIC Extended Library. It has some pretty nice features, such as matrix/vector classes, a full sprite class(pretty much) and all kinds of string handling functions, sorting routines, etc... We're kind of shooting for FB's answer to boost. Anyway, here's a pretty nifty demo I put together that use FB's gfxlib, Newton physics lib and OpenGL. The full source code is in there, and fbext is open-source as well, so if you plan on making any games with FreeBASIC, don't forget about FBEXT!

Nice to see all this stuff put together.  Interesting demo.  It would be cool to see it all put to some practical use :)

Awesome work. Really like the posted demos. Runs very smooth.

Btw. I would choose a more significant title for this post than
"Hi guys"  ;)

That's a karmic post if I ever saw one :)

The demo runs fine here ATI X1650, sometimes some of the objects flew through walls but it looks really impressive. Thanks for letting us know about it!

Thanks guys. Paul, that's disturbing how you get those artifacts. It's almost as if it's ignoring the 8-bit stencil buffer request. Are you running Vista?

yup, Vista it is. I'm using the latest Nvidia driver(169.25).
The artifacts don't appear every time I run it and they don't appear at all in the skee ball demo.
