Ok instead of taking my toys and going home, will attempt to fix code so it runs on all machines. I took the link down and will put it back up when it is fixed. As for comments on procedural vs non-procedural I will let someone else decide if this fits the intent and spirit of the competition. If someone want to disassemble it to examine the code... have at it.....lol

to me this is a fully valid entry! keep it in the contest and @Ghost, keep on coding!
We once had a passion
It all seemed so right
So young and so eager
No end in sight
But now we are prisoners
In our own hearts
Nothing seems real
It's all torn apart

just to put my two cents in,

i have seen how ghost creats these textures and let me assure you guys there is some pretty mad algos running in there ;).

there is no way bass is used to generate the actuall textures.its just there to keep things moving to the beat.

Yes please fix it Ghost, I would love to see it :)

I also get a mav on my xp machine, so its not a Vista specific thing, feel free to pm me for testing. I can compile the code in debug on my machine too if that help getting it sorted :)

well, i dont see a problem with using the music in the way you are doing it.. i just got the impression that you used some of the audio data to generate the background pattern.. my bad i suppose :crutches:

Well, my fault for not being clear on what code and music was doing.  You weren't wrong in interpretation. I just din't explain right. No problem.

Where is the download link to the demo? Everytime I come here I can't find it. Only a screenshot is attached but no demo..

I would really like to see a fixed version, too (though the original version already works well here).
Synchronizing video to audio is a very good & different approach to the procedural theme!
Let alone that the effect looked very nice on its' own already...
