Planned server downtime

On 16th July from 9pm, the server that DBF is hosted on will be upgraded by our hosts.

During the upgrade, Xilo will be shutting down most of the services to prevent any data being changed during the upgrade.

As a precautionary measure, I will be taking a full backup of the database and files on the morning of the 16th.

Also I will be putting the forum into maintenence mode at about 8pm on the 16th. It will remain in maintenence mode until the morning of the 17th.

During this time you will be able to see the front page, but you won't be able to log into the forum.

This is advance warning in case anyone thinks anything is wrong - everything is cool and we should have an even faster and more responsive site after the upgrade

Wow, they let you know beforehand this time!! Hope we don't end up with a bunch of useless webapp's and ads all over the place like the old yuku place .

Excellent. I haven't heard anything from them at my end, so you're either on a higher level hosting package, or they're going to upgrade my server later on.

I'll try to remember, and not go mad when I can't access the forum during the upgrade

Thanks for the info! Cool, that they even let you know beforehand. Seems really to be a decent hoster. ( And an extra  @ Hostpapa for sucking big time! )
